This scene of Cumberland Terrace, Regent's Park was painted as a background for another painting, "The Warrior's Daughter." It is interesting to note that Tissot's house and studio were near Regent's Park. He painted other London landmarks such as the columned monument at Kew Gardens, the grand portico of the National Gallery, and St. Paul's Cathedral as backgrounds for other paintings.
